CRCF is "The Center for Charitable Giving", a public resource for donors, professional advisors, non-profit agencies, municipalities, corporations, and others who have questions about how to achieve their charitable goals.
CFCF is a Tax Exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity, that is a non-political, philanthropic organization.
CRCF is a Collection of Endowed Funds. Named funds are established by donors to satisfy their own charitable wishes.
Private Foundation or Community Foundation?
Donors thinking of creating a private foundation are encouraged to consider the alternative of establishing a named fund within the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation is encumbered with far fewer regulations and tax liabilities than are private foundations. The rationale for this favored treatment is that the Community Foundation is controlled by representatives of the public it serves.
